Install record
An installer who has just put up a trailhead sign scans its QR code, and the install page takes the phone's position, a photo, the sign type and any comments, and saves it as the signed-in installer. With no signal it is saved on the phone and sent when the page next opens with signal, so the record of where every sign stands is made at the trailhead. The sign ticket comes later.

Three ways to build it
Low committed
Scan, position, photo, name, sign type and comments, save, into a log of installs, with no signal. Committed: what Jamie asked for first, with sign type and comments added (2026-10-22 PT).
Medium not chosen
The low level plus the sign ticket: the install completes that sign's work on the ticket (#65).
High not chosen
The medium level plus the offline map picture and a take-down record returning the sign to a depot (#66).
What the tests prove
- Oncean install recorded offline arrives once when the page reopens with signal.
- Statea recorded install sets the sign installed; later, it completes that sign's work and the ticket on the last sign.
- Sign typethe sign location's sign type is filled in; a changed one is saved on the install, and one outside the program's list is refused.
- Photoa photo is shrunk on the phone before it is saved, and the record saves without one.
- Driventhe real page is driven on a phone-width browser with the network off before done.
Measurements
Counted on the wireframe; live numbers come from the usage compartment once the screen exists.
Decided
- Sign type and comments are on the install record. The sign type is filled in from the sign location and the installer can change it when a different sign went up; the change is recorded on the install (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #65).
- No mounting field: how a sign is held, its support (pole, post or checkpoint), is set per sign location (#100, ruled 2026-10-16 PT).
- The door is the I just installed this sign link on the check-in page, shown only to a signed-in installer (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #65).
- No typed name: the install records the signed-in person, so the install page waits for per-person sign-in (#59) (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #65).
- Photo size: shrunk on the phone to 1,024 px on the long side, about 150 KB (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #65).
